Mrs. Johnsen has been in education for 25 years, 18 of which have been at St. Agatha. One of the best things about St. Agatha is that many of the students have been in class together for many years. This allows them to become more compassionate and kind to each other. They are quick to respond when a classmate needs help with a task or is having a rough day. They are also welcoming and inviting to new students who enter the classroom.
In 4th grade, students learn about Lewis and Clark as well as the Oregon Trail and the many features of our beautiful state. They also complete research projects and use technology to present their information.
Having been at St. Agatha for so many years, Mrs. Johnsen loves it when past students reach out to tell her how life is going. One recently reached out to share that she became a teacher. Many past students are married and have kids of their own. Some have purchased their own houses. It is so exciting to hear about their successes.
Laurie’s favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
